Our Beliefs
We are affiliated with the Church of God (Anderson, Indiana) which is a global movement of people seeking to fulfill God’s mission in the world. We’re committed to studying the Word of God and faithfully living it out. We’re committed to the mission that Jesus Christ gave every believer: to make disciples of all nations (Matt 28:18–20).
Sin and Salvation
We proclaim that Jesus died for everyone and that anyone who repents and accepts the sacrifice of Christ on the cross for the forgiveness of their sins is saved.
We further believe that since we have free will to accept or reject salvation, our free will also allows us to choose to disobey and reject God’s will, thereby forfeiting salvation.
IMAGO DEI
The creation story unfolds with such a powerful display of God’s forethought in all that God created. But in one final act of sovereignty and creation the triune Godhead declares there will be one more distinct living being:
“humankind, created in our image!” From creation forward, God has had a different relationship, connection, and role with this “Imago Dei” than with any other part of His creation.
The Nature and Authority of the Bible
The Church of God holds to the teaching that all of the Bible’s 66 books are writings by authors who were inspired by God
Kingdom of God
The Kingdom of God is probably one of the most common themes discussed and preached, and one of the least truly understood or lived out fully. The Church of God has an Amillennial view of the Kingdom of God, meaning Jesus has won the battle, and His throne is in the heart of those who receive His salvation and follow Him in discipleship.
Women in Ministry
The Church of God has embraced the truth that God is no respecter of persons and that He calls and gifts each of us according to His will.
Holiness
As followers of Christ with free will, we are called to live our lives as a reflection of the Holy God who created us, the sinless Savior that died for us, and the Holy Spirit that infills us.
Unity
We are called by God to live in unity with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Not culture, nor ethnicity, gender, or age should separate us or prevent us from being fully embraced by one another
Great Commission
Love God with your whole self. And, love your neighbors as yourself. The Scripture tells us this is the sum of the Law and the Prophets. As a people in the pursuit of holiness, the Great Commandments clothe us.
The Trinity
Trinitarian theology strikes at the most foundational question of religion: “Who is God?” The doctrine of the Trinity means that there is one God who eternally exists as three distinct Persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Stated differently, God is one in essence and three in person. These definitions express three crucial truths: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are distinct Persons. Each Person is fully God. There is only one God.
